Big comeback

It’s been a little while since I’ve written here so I wanted to stop in and let you all know I’m still alive and kicking.

This year’s NaNoWriMo is a bigger challenge than it was last year.  Less prep work, more things going on in my life, yada yada yada, you know the usual excuses that we all make and bundle together in what is better known as “Writers Block”.  We all get that there’s no such thing, right? 

Happily I was able to wrestle it to the ground and have chosen not to let the distractions get to me, or at worst, they only get to me in that moment.  Once the distractions are gone, they’re gone.  No need to allow them to continue to eat me up afterwards.

So now I’m back on the attack and I’m on my way to another win, although I know it’s not going to be easy with another 20K words to go and a week left.  That means just less than 3,000 words a day for the next 7 days.  

The good news is that the story is progressing nicely and the characters are doing all sorts of things that I have not planned.  The secondary characters are doing their damndest to steal the main character’s thunder in a big way.  I feel that the tide is once again beginning to turn.
