Letting it all go – Ode to my favorite lines never published

Written in GoldIt happened again today.

Twice.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but they had to go, there was just no living with them any longer.

Sure, they were only two lines written for a short story, but they were my favorites.  Previous to this editing pass, I thought that they “made” the character who they were attributed, but alas, when all was said and done they were just a little garish and didn’t say anything that I hadn’t already showed.

The good news is that I understand that they’ll be very happy and are now frolicking on a farm with a description that I held onto for a year that I wrote for a different story.

OK, almost two years.
