Well said, Jeff. Always cool to drop in and see what you’re having to say. Editing is the bane of the writing world and those writers that say they love it are just doing that positive affirmation thingie (sorry for the technical terminology). I don’t like it, but I do it…a lot. My biggest problem? No matter how many times I rewrite, I find something I want to change. A word, a punctuation mark, a piece of “vital” backstory, a darling I should have knocked off agaes ago. Sometimes you just have to say enough is enough and I just can’t bring myself to say …

Seriously though, if you’re a user of their service check out their contributions page to help set off the cost of maintaining the hosting costs, not to mention the many hours that they spend collecting data from across the internets to have the most up to date market listing for genre fiction in the free world.

I’ve got a Kindle and an iPod Touch. I’m going to hold off on the iPad for now. It looks like a fantastic device, but the Kindle is just fine for now. The biggest benefit for me? I can sample as many books as I like before pulling the trigger on one.

Darn too late for me. One of my new years resolutions this year was to swear off the paper book.

I have a Sony reader, an iPad in the mail, and an iPod touch. Most of my reading the past year has been electronic and it’s been a great experience. I used to lug around a pile of books with me when I’d travel, and now I have a wider selection in less space.

Spider Robinson finished writing Robert Heinlein’s Variable Star. Random, I know, but it just tickled me so.

Me too!!! … I looked at the googledocs area for our group and realized the last work submitted (by you) for comment and review was clear back in September …. mine is much farther back then that when I last submitted. Househunting has turned into a full-time job almost for me, … or at least that’s what I tell myself! Getting some of those goals set for myself as well. Good luck to us all.

Great thoughts and thanks!!! I’m excited to get started as well, just have to go teach my sunday school class, etc. first … but my characters have been reeling in my head for the last couple of days. One thought that I read that seemed to be a good one … for me at least … is that if you write something that needs some research down the road, you write it in ALL CAPS, as a quick signal to you for AFTER the NaNoWriMo month is complete … happy writing … and I’ll see you on your word counts! J

World War Z was superior to a lot of the stuff out there today. They did a really good job with having as many stories as they did in there and also keeping the same level of tension.

I was looking at the 505 in Borders the other day. It’s a solid unit. Barnes & Noble’s Nook comes out in another week. It’s more expensive, but has a lot of nifty features.
